Meet Sarah
Hi friends! I'm Sarah! I am the baker and founder of Blue Dahlia Baking Company. Ever since I was a little girl baking was my sweet escape! I would notoriously go through my mom's recipe books and pick out just the right dessert to make! My favourite memories though were those December weekends baking all the holiday treats with my mom, singing Christmas Carols as we went! It was where my passion for baking was ignited and the magic of creating something special was born! Special occasions and a love for good food goes way back in my family! Anyone who came over to our house back then knew they would walk away with a belly full of delicious food! My parents have instilled that same love in me! The ability to create something wonderful from scratch is one thing, but when you can share that passion with others it means the whole world! My heart is that every time you bite into a Blue Dahlia baked good, you will taste the love in every bite!
All About Blue Dahlia
In 2016 I began my baking journey and started operating out of the Okotoks Farmers Market as Blue Dahlia Pie Company! My business was born out of a love for pie and the desire to create something completely unique. I wanted to create a whole new version of eating pie that would capture all the essence of pie but in a smaller bite! Thus I started my business with my hand pies. Creating my own twist on pie, with many different flavours, that would pique the interest of any avid pie eater. In June of 2023 I decided to change my company name to Blue Dahlia Baking Company. With a love for baking all kinds of things, I knew in my heart I would want to offer so much more than just pie. It made sense to re brand and start building my company in a new way!
As a mom of 3 boys life is very busy! Without the means to go to school, I took all of my learning in my own hands, and have meticulously poured over content and technique to learn how to work my craft! My passion and love for baking continues to develop my skill and I love this journey I am on. I always want to continue learning so that I can share with you all a product I am proud to share, and that the quality of what I offer is known as soon as you take that first bite.
I create everything I make from scratch and from my heart! Ideas that turn into testing grounds to deliver a baked good that stands out above the rest! I love creating sweet moments, that turn into even sweeter memories for you and your loved ones, that you can cherish for years to come! I thrive on taking my passion and infusing it into everything I bake. I always use the highest quality of ingredients because taste matters! No short cuts here! Real ingredients you can feel good to share. I want each bite to bring a little joy to your day! So gather your loved ones, treat yourself, and share the magic! I hope I can be a part of many celebrations for years to come!
